Romania: Attractive business opportunities for medical technologies |

The Romanian healthcare market indicates a considerable need to catch up.
Therefore the local private market suppliers plan extensive investments: in the near future a vast amount of euro will be spent on the numerous constructions and upgrading of hospitals as well as acquisition of medical equipment. The Romanian authorities as well announced a programme targeting to build 15 new emergency hospitals. The construction of the facilities will be financed by the government, and according to the Romanian Ministry of Health, shall get „very high funding”. The dates for the publication of the upcoming tenders have not been decided yet.
The World Bank will assist the Romanian authorities to realise these projects, and among other things they will support the reconstruction of 18 maternity wards. The tenders will be published on the website of the Romanian Ministry of Health in the middle of Mai 2009.
